Shop for Free Shipping!
With the high cost of shipping while shopping on line it’s good to find a company that offers FREE SHIPPING.
While browsing a web site, look for their “shipping” methods or information. There is generally a link at either the top of the page to advertise the free shipping, or at the bottom of the home page for delivery methods and charges. Some sites are harder than others to find the actual “Shipping Charges” and you might have to see if they have a FAQ (frequently asked questions) or a Customer Service page.
If the web site makes it difficult to find their shipping policy, they probably will add the shipping costs at checkout time.
Some companies, like ours, provides free shipping for orders over a certain order amount (i.e. Free shipping on orders over $50). Free shipping can be a significant savings on heavier and larger items.
Even if there is a shipping charge you should take into consideration the cost of wear and tear on your vehicle along with your time involved in driving to shopping malls. The 2007 IRS standard mileage rates for business travel is $.485 per mile. If you have to travel more than 10 miles one way to a shopping mall, then a shipping charge of less than $9.00 is a bargain (and the Internet is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!).
Shopping Tip: Before purchasing an item on line from a company, try typing the name of the company into a search engine like Google or Yahoo, plus the word coupon or free shipping. You may discover discounts, coupons or shipping information that are not advertised.
