What Do I Buy My Boss For His Birthday?

This wonderful scenario was presented to me recently, leaving me wondering what to do. We are a small company and are all very close but I imagine this scenario plays out in companies both large and small.

Last year I remember being very embarrassed when I was one of the only people not to get him anything for his birthday. It wasn’t something I was used to and really didn’t even put any thought into.

This year will be different though. I don’t want to spend a fortune but it would be nice to be able to buy him something nice that he can remember me by.

I decided a personalized birthday gift would be the way to go. Affordable and memorable.

After doing a little research on what his interests were I settled on simple and direct. We have a coffee machine here at the office and early last year my boss accidentally broke the mug that he had always used. I had assumed he replaced it but upon a little researching I noticed that he had opted for the disposable coffee cups many of us use instead. They are ok but nothing compared to having your own mug.

A personalized coffee mug was the absolute perfect gift! A combination of need and thought that he would surely appreciate.

The little extra time I spent thinking about this gift made it all worth it. Next time you are in this scenario don’t break the bank, instead, take a little extra time and really think about what they might need and add a personal touch to it.
